Tonight is date night! Hubby and I reserve every Wednesday night to get away from reality for a few hours!
Date night to us means a corner booth in a small local restaurant eating great food!
Tonight we decided to try out a newly opened restaurant in South Naples only about five miles from the Homefront.
Saltwater Blues is located in the newly renovated building that used to house the old (not so desirable) crackling jacks. As we headed to location all I knew about the restaurant is that it has live music nightly! For anyone that lives in Naples, we lack “nightlife” so I was already excited!
As we entered the restaurant my husband and I were warmly greeted by wonderful live Blues music and couple of waitresses eager to seat us. We were offered beverages, I decided on a cold beer, my designated driver lemonade.
We spent sometime going over the menu and couldn’t help but notice the choices! They even offer a late night menu, which I might add had fried pickle spears on it!
After asking the Waitress what are the most popular appetizers, she quickly told us the gator strips and firecracker shrimp
The gator strips were, melt in your mouth AMAZING! I could taste the love that was put in every second of its preparation!
The firecracker shrimp was very fragrant and had a Spicy Asian taste! Very good!
For the main course We decided on the special, snapper with garlic sauce, this included soup or house saled and 2 sides. I choose the lobster bisk and sweet potato and coleslaw. although the plating lacked wow, it’s going to be a snowbird favorite My Date had the teriyaki burger on a brioche bun. This was topped with a sliced pineapple and caramelized onions and sliced tomatoes! One bite and we were in heaven!
Overall we were very pleased! We can’t wait to go back to try Saltwater Blues, BBQ and Mason jar deserts!
Congratulations! Saltwater Blues! We will be sure to tell all of our friends!!
